Children and Youth Ministries
Children's Ministry
Emmaus offers a weekly Sunday school program for children aged 5-11. Trained volunteers run the Sunday school program, where children have the opportunity to learn about God in a way that is age appropriate and relevant to them, and supplements the discipleship that they are receiving at home. Children are invited to hear God’s Word, to respond to His Word through activities of play, coloring, painting, and writing in their journals. Youth Ministry
Emmaus Youth Group meets Friday nights during school term from 7:00 - 9:30pm.
We are an urban group, with students attending from all different parts of the city, and we are always happy to welcome new members. Although we primarily operate in English, many students and some of the leaders are equally comfortable speaking French.
The purpose of youth group is to teach students about Christianity, and encourage them to have a deep, personal faith in Jesus that resonates through every area of their life and effects their day to day actions. We hope to plant ideas and experiences in their hearts and minds that will bear good fruit as they grow and mature.
Our goal on Friday nights is to create a community of Christian believers who can mutually encourage one another. We talk, sing, pray, study the Bible, discuss issues, create things, play, and eat together.
We also have a Youth Sunday School class most weeks during the church service, where we study the Bible and apply it to our lives.
